We’ve been holding onto this little secret for a while now, but the cat is finally out of the bag…a new baby BOY is joining our family at the end of the year! His official due date is 12/31 so we’ll have to wait and see if he is a 2017 or 2018 baby.
While we are so excited about this little addition, we have to admit it was quite the surprise. When we were trying to get pregnant with Rosemary, it took us nearly a year and a half. So, when Rosemary was a year old, we thought it could be good to start trying again in case it took another year and a half….but it only took one month! I guess it was just meant to be!
So far, this pregnancy has been pretty smooth, but boy has it been exhausting. In my experience, being pregnant with a girl made me more nauseous, but being pregnant with a boy has been more tiring. I’ve needed a nap almost every day! Fortunately, Rosemary is still taking two naps a day, so I’ve been able to take a couple breaks. I am so thankful for that! In reality, Rosemary has been an angel through it all. She’s a walking toddler, so she’s certainly busy, but she’s pretty content to play by herself when needed.
Speaking of Rosemary, I made this little dress for our announcement to each set of our parents. She certainly knows how to ham it up for the camera, too, right? So far, she’s too young to understand what we are saying when we tell her she’s getting a new brother. However, we visited my cousin and her three-month-old son recently and she wasn’t jealous when we held him, so I have high hopes for her. She even retrieved his stuffed bunny when he dropped it on the floor and gently placed it on his lap! It was adorable.
Overall, we feel very blessed and can’t wait to see what the next year brings for all of us.
