Reid, today you are one week old! You are currently sleeping on my chest, so I’ll keep this update brief!
Your birth story is yet to come, but since we’ve come home, you’ve been such a joy. We’ve had a few tough moments breastfeeding, but, overall, you’ve taken to it like a champ. When you aren’t eating, you are content to sleep on mom or dad or in your rock n play. You even let your 21 month old sister hold you, hug you, and kiss you, which makes her day! She loves you so so much!
Because you were born on Christmas, we celebrated Christmas as a family on the 28th, after we got home. Grandma Roeder came to stay with us, helping us a lot with cleaning and learning to manage two kids at once. She had to leave early because, unfortunately, your great-grandfather passed away today. He lived such a long and happy life, and I know we are all relieved that he is no longer in pain, but I am sad that you never got to meet him. I pray that you get to develop long and wonderful relationships with all your grandparents! Grandma is planning to return and stay with us for a few days soon.
We love you so much! We are still getting to know you, but I have a feeling you are going to have a sweet and gentle disposition just like your sister!
